
Ge Under Sink Dishwasher - Installing a built-in dishwasher requires mechanical, electrical and plumbing skills base, so the average handy person can install a dishwasher in 1 to 3 hours depending on if a new installation or replacement dishwasher. If you are replacing an existing dishwasher, it will take less time.
New Installation

1. Prepare the cabinet area where the dishwasher will be installed. The opening should be 24 inches wide for most models, 24 inches wide and 34 1/2 \\ \"on the floor under the table. The back wall can not have pipes or wires on it. The power and water supply lines will come into the cabinet in a 4 \\\" X4 \\ \"area behind the bottom of the cabinet through a \\\" hole 1 1/2. Make sure the floor is level and the cabinet is squared.
2. Choose your drain method based on your local codes and height of the drain tee. Some codes require an air gap. If the drain tee is less than 18 inches from the floor, you have to use the air gap. If the air gap is not necessary and the tee is more than 18 inches from the floor, you can use the loop method for line connection. If the drain hose will connect to the dump, you must remove the knock out plug so the dishwasher will drain.
3. Inspect or install wiring to make sure there is a dedicated circuit 120V, 60Hz with a circuit breaker 15 or 20-amp fuse or time delay. Cables must be 2 wire with ground and rated for 75 degrees Celsius or 176 degrees Fahrenheit. Cable can come into the cabinet from both sides in the lower back area. The hole should be up to 1 1/2 \\ \", and it can be used the same hole the water supply line and drain hose if it is embedded. If it is a flexible power cord, it must have a separate hole. Hardwiring cable will appear along the right side the bottom 24 inches of the cabinet for electrical connection front right in the dishwasher.
4. Prepare a water supply line that goes through 1 1/2 \\ \"hole in the bottom rear of the cabinet. Turn off the water to install a hand shut-off valves under the sink. Water connections on the left side of the dishwasher. Use 3/8 \\ \"OD copper line to extend a minimum of 19 inches from the back wall. The water heater should be set between 120 and 150 degrees (closer to 120 if the children at home to prevent accidents heat) and the pressure should be between 20-120 PSI.
5. Prepare dishwasher by checking the door balance and adjust the spring tension if necessary. If the foot should be attached, do it close to where it will be installed.

cycle. Check for leaks and proper drying.
Replace the existing dishwasher
You do not need to drill holes because they will already be there from the dishwasher there. However, you need to check the cables and pipes to ensure they are able to serve a new dishwasher. Once it is established you must turn off the main power on and turn the water supply before it initiates the removal of an old dishwasher. All lines and cables must first be disconnected. Taking the drain hose from the dump or drain pipe under the sink. If dishwasher has a power cord, you will need to unplug it.
